Although we are unable to gather together this year and remember our local men who lost their lives in the First World War, technology means we can bring you a short service of Remembrance, pre-recorded just before lockdown, which you can watch by clicking this link. We hope you can set aside 20 minutes to watch the video and think of their sacrifice, and that of all those who have died in wars, for our freedom.
If you would like to make a donation in their memory to our chosen charity this year, the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice, you can do so on our JustGiving page.The Hospice has launched an emergency appeal due to lack of income because of Covid so, if you are able, please do make a donation to support their valuable work.
The Trust was also delighted to fund the renovation and cleaning of the Welling War Memorial at St John’s Church. Sadly our plans to re-dedicate the Memorial on Remembrance Sunday were also affected, but our thanks go to St John’s Church who pre-recorded the re-dedication, which can be viewed by clicking this link.
